Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced senior regulatory person specializing in cosmetics regulatory compliance across global markets (US, EU, Canada, UK, Australia, and other international markets). This role involves monitoring and interpreting regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and leading regulatory initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cosmetics regulations and a strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks, including FDA (US), EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC 1223/2009), Health Canada, UK regulations, and TGA (Australia). The role also requires working cross-functionally to support product launches, regulatory submissions, and post-market compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Strategy
- Monitor and interpret cosmetic regulations, industry trends, and enforcement activities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide regulatory guidance for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with market-specific labeling, claims, and formulation requirements.
- Develop and implement regulatory strategies for international expansion, including market entry pathways and product classification assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety assessments, and cosmetic ingredient restrictions in various markets.
Product Compliance & Market Entry Support
- Review and approve product formulations, labels, packaging, and marketing materials to ensure adherence to global regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality, and marketing teams to assess product claims, safety data, and documentation needs.
- Lead Product Information File (PIF) preparation, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) reviews, and compliance assessments for new and existing products.
- Oversee notification, ingredient review & registration processes for key markets (e.g., CPNP for EU, MoCRA for US, Health Canada NPN, UK SCPN, NICNAS for Australia).
- Maintain regulatory documentation and ensure alignment with international compliance standards.
Stakeholder Engagement & Audits
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, third-party testing labs, and industry associations.
- Support regulatory audits, inspections, and inquiries from government agencies.
- Conduct internal regulatory training and compliance workshops for cross-functional teams.
Regulatory Intelligence & Risk Management
- Continuously track and analyze changes in global cosmetics legislation, ingredient restrictions/ bans, and safety regulations.
- Identify potential regulatory risks and recommend proactive compliance measures.
- Lead regulatory impact assessments for product changes and reformulations.
Key Requirements : Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of regulatory experience in cosmetics compliance across US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia, and global markets.
- Proven experience in cosmetic product registration, safety assessment, and compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO 22716, Cosmetic GMP, product safety evaluations, and regulatory frameworks like MoCRA, EU 1223/2009, SCCS guidelines, and TGA requirements.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of global cosmetic regulations, labeling requirements, and advertising standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory texts and communicate clear compliance strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and regulatory compliance software.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification
- Experience in post-market surveillance, safety reporting, and ingredient safety assessments.
- Knowledge of cosmetic claims substantiation, regulatory intelligence tools, and ingredient databases.
- Exposure to platforms like, Slack, Zoom is a plus
